Myths

The first day of Greek mythology was crazy. We all got to find out who our greek characters are that will guide us through the 12 labors. We had to persevere through the 12 hard labors, just like Hercules did. The 12 labors required different strengths and knowledge as we completed them. For the first labor, we had to read a long passage and then create a sail based on our god to guide our ship as we set out on our odyssey. The next labors were myth mystery questions. In these labors, we had to read passages and then figure out what the clues meant. We used decoders and different hieroglyphics to help. We had a lot of fun trying to solve what the hidden phrase was. We focused on different kinds of myths, like myths that explain nature or myths that have a moral. One of our labors even involved making columns and seeing how strong we could make it. We only got one piece of paper and two index cards. They are really big. Whoever made columns, they must have been really talented because the columns are so detailed.

Our favorite labor was the last, labor #12, where we got to choose a project from our choice board and make it with our group. Some of the choices were to create a sculpture out of clay, make a puppet show, make posters or even video trailers. 

Finally, it was time to roll out the red carpet and share our presentations. Some did puppet shows that were presented live, others built clay sculptures of monster or Hercules or Pandora. We had wanted posters from hydra and even a news broadcast. Everyone got to share their amazing projects in front of the whole class and got a class cheer. We were all very proud of our work and posted it on the padlet. Check it out below:

Klipazon

 We know you have heard of Amazon, but have you heard about Klipazon?!?! Let us tell you all about it...

Starting this week we are doing Klipazon. It is where we can shop online to spend our hard earned Klipfel Cash and do all this fun stuff. Some ways we earn Klipfel cash is by doing the right things, being kind, working together, or showing compassion then if you have enough money you can purchase things and then the order will be shipped to us. Once we make a purchase, we get a certificate. When we are ready to cash in we give our Klipazon certificate to Miss Klipfel. Then we will also give her the Klipfel Cash to complete the purchase.

Here are a lot of cool things you can purchase on Klipazon:

   
1. Hoop time! Miss Klipfel has a basketball hoop in her room and when you purchase hoop time you get to shoot your ball into the basket as many times as you have purchased. We are also having a competition to see who can make the longest shot, the most creative shot, and most shots in a row. 
2. Reading free night! You get to have a free night of reading homework!
3. Smelly shoes! Is when you get to take your shoes off for the whole day!! 
4. Pen for the day! Pen for the day is when you get to write with any kind of pen or marker you want!!!
5. Comfy Cozy! Comfy cozy is when during read aloud or when we're on the rug we get to choose any seat in Miss Klipfel´s room such as Big Joe who is this nice bean bag chair that is so comfortable! Also, there is this blue spinny chair and much other comfortable chairs and cushions too!
6. 1st seating choice for the day! First seating choice for the day is when the person that purchased this will get to choose where they want to sit first before anyone else. 
7. Chevy Time!! Chevy time is when you can hang with Chevy the whole day! Oh yea, if you're wondering who Chevy is he is this big, gigantic monkey!
   
8. Monkey Business! Monkey Business is when you get to be with our favorite classroom pet MANGO THE MONKEY!!! 
9. Homework pass! A homework pass is when you get a homework pass like for our the ELA homework choice board you get a free box!
