Comic-Con 2022
Deep in the halls of Howe-Manning, students have been showing their true superpowers. By day you know them as Howe-Manning 4th-grade students but when problems arise they turn into superheroes. Some are able to leap Howe-Manning in a single bound while others are able to stop a speeding monkey. They are all here to eliminate crime one diabolical villain at a time!Over the last month, students have been preparing for Comic-Con. Students reviewed parts of plot and watched clips of past and present superheroes/villains to then create their very own. Check out all the published 4th grade comics here.

Amazing Race
Written by Guest Bloggers
In Social Studies we are working in groups and pretending we are competing on the show The Amazing Race. On the show, there are about 6 teams and they race for a million dollars. This race is not normal you travel all around the country and some things you do are crazy hard! But our Amazing race is different in our classroom, we don’t race for a million dollars. Well, I wish! Also, we don’t really go to different states but it seems so real!
Just like on the Amazing Race we have to complete Route Info clues to send us to different states. We have to complete detours which give us a choice of which activity to complete and we have roadblocks. Once we figure out which state we need to "travel" to, we add it to our Google Earth which makes us feel like we are really there. We have been completing this race across the Western Region of the United States.
During our stop in Colorado, you could choose to answer questions or make your own song about the mining location we were in. I also loved Colorado because it was so fun to make the Colorado flag and the meaning behind it. My favorite part so far was the hula dancing, it was so fun to learn how to hula dance, from real Hawaiians. We got to hula dance with the Moana theme song! Other groups choose to make a Hawaiian lei and then we all did the limbo like we were at a luau. It really felt like we were in Hawaii!

Every member of the team had to be there in order for Miss Klipfel to check us in. She even greeted us and helped us feel like we were in that state. So far in the Amazing Race we have learned that we have to work together to get through one leg. You really have to work as a team!

Fashion Disaster Fashion Show
Written by Guest Bloggers: Kallie & Kenzie
Have you seen the newest fashion trends at Howe-Manning!? You won’t believe what we’re all wearing these days. There are outfits that clash! There are outfits that you would never even see! We are telling you about the Fashion Disaster Fashion Show.
There were people wearing pants on their heads, socks on their hands, lopsided hair, different holiday attire, and make-up galore! It was phenomenal. We are going to be telling you about what happened and who won. Everything YOU need to know! Some people wore crazy and fashionable outfits! We went down the runway in the classroom! We clapped at everybody that went on the show. Let me tell you, these outfits were out of this world!
Then we wrote about whoever’s outfit we wanted, and pretended to be bloggers! Our task was to persuade other 4th graders why we should win the fashion show and be the newest fashion craze at Howe-Manning. We focused on using colorful and dazzling word choices to bring our posh outfits to life. We learned that you can even find synonyms using Google Tools.
It was super duper cool and fun! You should check it out! And you should buy some of these outfits! You will surely stand out! Who knows you might see these outfits at the mall, school, supermarket or even wedding attire. See you on the runway.
